In this architectural intervention, we were faced with a flat of contained dimensions, composed of two bedrooms, a separate kitchen, a living room and a dining room, all of them dissociated from each other, which limited the spatial fluidity and the relationship between the social areas of the home.
Integration and use of natural light
The main challenge of the project was to redefine the interior layout to achieve a harmonious integration of social spaces and enhance the natural lighting provided by its favorable orientation. To do so, an open-plan layout was chosen where the kitchen, dining room and living room converge in a single, spacious and functional space. This open-plan layout favors the interconnection of uses and amplifies the perception of space.
Design and materials: Unity and warmth
The treatment of the finishes played a fundamental role in unifying the rooms. Moldings were incorporated into the walls, adding character and refinement to the composition, while a color palette in light tones allowed for maximum reflection of natural light, generating a warm and serene atmosphere.
A bedroom designed for inspiration
In response to the client’s requirements, a writer who needed an area with abundant natural light and ample storage space, a master bedroom was designed with an en-suite bathroom equipped with a bathtub. Large built-in wardrobes were incorporated to optimize storage and a private terrace was conceived as a multifunctional space, intended for both rest and concentration. This space features an integrated desk, conceived as a refuge for writing and inspiration.
