Space optimization in an elongated house

We were faced with the challenge of redistributing a long-plan home, whose original layout made it difficult to zone the common and private areas. In its previous design, the kitchen and living room were separated by a corridor, and the bedrooms were located at opposite ends, which generated an inefficient spatial fragmentation.

A design adapted for rental

Since the client’s objective was to convert the property into a rental flat, we focused the intervention on maximising spaces without compromising the comfort of future tenants. The strategy consisted of integrating the existing structural elements, such as pillars and beams, into the new layout, incorporating them as part of the architectural design.

Reconfiguration for greater functionalityd

A bedroom with a large en-suite bathroom was created, giving the unit a higher category and appeal for the rental market. In addition, it was decided to integrate the dining room with the kitchen, keeping the living room separate from the bedrooms without losing the visual and functional connection with the common spaces.

Comfort and balance between privacy and social life

The new layout allows tenants to enjoy spacious and bright rooms, guaranteeing privacy without sacrificing the possibility of a dynamic social life. This balance ensures a comfortable and functional environment, suitable for both rest and daily interaction.
